A Message from Amber

Congratulations once again to AmberChia Academy's first batch of graduating students! You all make us proud, and thank you for putting on such a fantastic show at your graduation. When you’re part of our academy, you’re not just a student - you’re part of our family!
I would also like to thank all my sponsors, friends and members of the media for your generous support. You have helped open doors for my students that I never had when I was starting out. Thank you!
Looking ahead, I am very excited about the new courses that our academy will be offering soon, including a brand new course that will be helmed by me personally. Between work, a new movie, my family at the academy and watching my son, Ashton, grow up, I barely have time for myself anymore; but the truth is, I feel content and blessed. I sincerely wish for all of you to be happy, to be the best you can be and to realise your dreams!

Getting Personal...

Amber's first child, Ashton Wong, has just turned 8 months old, and he has gotten his mother as excited as we've ever seen her, about his 2 little front teeth! It's true what they say about the little things in life... Baby Ashton is also the proud ambassador of three leading brands, as the face of Philips Avent, Cell Safe International as well as Huggies. Look out for his advertisement campaigns soon!
On her work front, Amber can now add another ‘Air Mata Ibu’ into her list of filmography as she has been recently cast to star in the RM2 million movie. Joining her is a stellar Malaysian, Taiwanese and Japanese ensemble which includes Diana Danielle, Johnson Low, Hero Tai, Christine Ko and Kimura Takahiro, with Dato Siti Nurhaliza at the helm of the movie's theme song.

ACA Graduation Show
|
On May 6th, Canon proudly presented AmberChia Academy's Inaugural Graduation Show. A total of fifty-nine students graduated in the presence of over 500 hundred guests at 1 Utama's "Fashion on One" Fashion Week. The fashion show by graduating modeling, makeup & photography students was a hit with the audience. Wafa Johanna de Korte was awarded Most Promising Female Model and Kurt Chin Ke Liang was awarded Most Promising Male Model, while Mandy Tan won the Best Makeup Presentation.

The Korean Connection
|
During Amber's recent trip to Seoul, South Korea (April 29th), Amber signed a MoU with KMA (Korea Model Association) Chairman Yang Eui-Sig. AmberChia Academy has been appointed the exclusive representative to select top models from Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong for the prestigious Asia Model Festival Awards; and scout for up-and-coming models for the annual Asia New Face Model Search. KMA is a government-sanctioned body under South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
At the official launch of the 2011 Makeup Festival Award in Seoul, South Korea, on April 30th, AmberChia Academy also signed a MoU with KPMA (Korea Pro Makeup Association) President Ahn Mi-Ryeo, enabling AmberChia Academy to exclusively offer new and advanced courses unlike any other in Malaysia, which include interesting makeup techniques, technology and certification in collaboration with KPMA.With this, Amber Chia Academy will make Malaysia only the third country, after China and Taiwan, offering exclusive makeup courses recognised and certified by KPMA, which has certified over 50,000 professional makeup artists worldwide.
